Face of Nigeria's Unity: Lt. Col. Adekunle Fajuyi

Image
“Mark my words, whatever happens to you today, happens to me”, the Colonel had bravely told the General. Lt. Col Adekunle Fajuyi was a man who was so detribalised that he willing gave his life for an Igbo man even though he knew he would have been allowed to live if he had given up the Head of State. Such bravery and Show of Unity in a detribalized Nigerian should have been celebrated like a national festival and then we would have seen if ethnic and religious crisis would have thrived in our nation.  The Igbo tribe should have put up monuments to celebrate this great Nigerian who stood and died for one of their own. I weep for my nation for turning blind eye to issues that would not score political goals or derive political benefits. How many Nigerians today will replicate that same feat even amongst their own brothers? Lt. Col. Adekunle Fajuyi should have been the Face of Nigeria's Unity A GIFT AWAITS YOU HERE        Come Join the #1 Affiliate Net...

THE SUMPTUOUS MEAL

Image
Looking at the picture above brought back fresh pangs of hunger and memories of all the hunger I have ever felt in my entire life. I could not help but wonder what is going on in so many homes living under the poverty line. A lot of children crying out in huger in so many homes and some mothers forcing their dry breasts into the mouths of their last children who are still toddlers just to placate them. I just pray blood does not flow out in place of milk. Still looking at the picture, I can see some governors who have not paid workers’ salaries for months and some with several abandoned projects scattered across their states yet with high performance ratings only in sponsored media documentaries. The total expenditure of a single governor in this photo is enough to offset at least a month salary or complete one of the numerous abandoned projects. I hate looking at the picture because it exposes the folly of the Nigerian project where forex which is needed to shore up our econ...

Port Harcourt State

Image
I was to travel to Umuahia in Abia state for my cousin’s traditional marriage ceremony and I boarded a bus from Jibowu park in Lagos state. I got a seat beside a beautiful fair lady with curves at the right places. She had a velvety smooth skin that glowed under the early morning sun. I was so happy and excited to have such a beauty as a travel companion but I knew it could come at a cost which I was willing to bear even though I knew it would have an adverse effect on my spending schedule for the trip. Cost notwithstanding, I made up my mind to do all within my power to get acquainted with her. Please do not preach to me because I am still single and searching though  broke (story for another day). We got talking as I had planned and got along very well. There was a general discussion in the bus going as the journey progressed which centred on the Igbo secession demand and Biafra in general. While some supported Biafra, others were against it and gave their reasons. It got hea...

Reality of Child Labour: Watch Video

Image
In the face of biting harsh economic conditions in Nigeria, Nigerians in their characteristic adaptive nature have devised means to mitigate its effect and prevent it in the future by equipping underage kids with manual labour skills. With high unemployment rates, it is important and necessary for Nigerian youths to have other skills other than just formal education so as to become self employed rather than searching for jobs that are not available and when available not sufficient to pay bills. I recently ran into a kid who was being trained in the art of making cement mortar for wall plastering and buildings in general. See video after cut. THE BIRD STORY

Image
Nnamdi Kanu/ IPOB Leader Pix Source: Naij.com A bird had a nest of chicks and each time she flew away and returned to her nest, she would ask her chicks, “when will the farmer harvest the farm?” They will reply “he said he will ask his brother to harvest for him tomorrow” and the mother bird will say, “then there will be no food for us tomorrow.” Another time she asked and they replied, “he said he will ask his son to harvest for him” and at a different occasion they responded that he has asked his friend to help him out. The chicks always got the same reaction from their mother which was always “there will be no food for us tomorrow.” One day the mother bird returned and asked the chicks the same question and they responded, “the farmer said he will harvest the farm himself tomorrow” and then the mother bird chirped happily “wow! We will surely have food tomorrow.” The only assurance of accomplishment is that which has been guaranteed by your own action. Many a ...
